In February 2026, a unique opportunity is unfolding for leaders, investors, educators, innovators and changemakers from Australia and New Zealand: a curated delegation to Bhutan, aligned with the Bhutan Investment Forum (12–13 February 2026) and a broader mission focused on innovation, education, sustainability and partnership-building.
Bhutan is already known globally as the world’s only net-zero nation, a place where development is measured not only by economics but by Gross National Happiness. Now, the country is embarking on an ambitious new chapter with the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) – a visionary economic zone grounded in sustainability, culture and wellbeing. This delegation creates a bridge between Bhutan’s aspirations and Australia’s expertise.
Why This Delegation Matters
The mission is designed to bring together people who can meaningfully contribute to Bhutan’s future and benefit from deep cultural, commercial and educational exchange. Over seven days, delegates will explore opportunities across:
- agriculture & horticulture
- building & construction
- circular economy
- entrepreneurship & technology
- care services
- education & VET/TVET
- food & beverage
- manufacturing
- hospitality
- renewable energy
The delegation aims to spark long-term collaboration, including the potential signing of an MOU between South Australian partners and the Bhutanese Government focused on net-zero strategies, sustainable development and shared skills pathways.
This trip is not tourism. It’s insight, immersion and connection—bringing together government, industry, investors, educators, entrepreneurs and leaders seeking purposeful collaboration.
